Kate Mara

Kate Mara, born on February 27th1983, is the daughter of Irish and Italian parents and was having O'Mara as her family name. She was eager to become an actress since she had seen Les Miserables in her early age as she felt fascinated with the musicals in the movie and kept growing with her attachment throughout her life till she succeeded in becoming an actress. She played her first role in her school's musical program and several other school plays when she was nine years of age. Proving her acting caliber through several plays she proceeded to films at the age of 16 when she played her debut role in Random Hearts in 1999. Kate Mara began her career professionally as an artist at the age of fourteen through an agent who arranged for her first audition for Homicide: Life on the Street, drama. She could not succeed in getting a role in that drama but was noticed by the professionals of drama field and was admitted to the NY University's Tisch School of arts where she was thoroughly trained for the detailed studies of musical theater. She started her acting career from Manhattan as full time artist in the plays, TV and films.

Kate started her professional career in 1997 from the drama Law and Order: Special Victims Unit and after that she remained busy in various roles through all the three segments of show-biz. She was noticed through several roles in plays, TV and films since her beginning as full time artists in all of these fields. In 2003 she played two remarkable roles that include, a role of 18 year old girl who become pregnant from her piano instructor and was aborted later on, in film Everwood and done a role of a cheerleader Vanessa, who was involved in love with Matt McNamara, her boyfriend, and another cheerleader, which made an unprecedented love triangle on Nip/Tuck. These roles were appreciated greatly at that time.

She was also known for her roles in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Boston Public, CSI: Miami and Cold Case played in 2003. After her well admired role in Academy award winning film in 2005, Brokeback Mountain, Kate Mara played many remarkable roles in successive years as in 2006. In 2006 Kate entered into an agreement with William Morris Agency which made her stand among the 10 top young actors through the New York Daily News. It gave her a chance of enacting the role of Summer Jones, a 16 year old girl who has empathic and telekinetic capabilities, with Courteney Cox and Tim Allen in Zoom, a super hero movie of 2006. She acted in We Are Marshall, Shooter was the thriller she acted in 2007, in 2008 it was Transsiberian and Stone of Destiny and in 2009 The Open Road. She also participated in several TV shows like Entourage, the sixth season of a HBO series, 127 Hours, Iron Man 2 and Happythankyoumoreplease in the meantime.

Kate Mara also enacted in a comedy film Peep World in which she co-starred with Rainn Wilson, Michael C. Hall and Sarah Silverman in 2009. She also played a comic character of US Marshal in Iron Man 2 directed by Marvel, in the same year. She was busy in starring Ironclad, which narrates the story of obstructing Rochester Castle in the year 1215 through King John, in which Kate used English speaking style in her dialogues. Mara also became the part of TV serials American Horror Story and FX series as Hayden McClaine in 2011. Kate became the part of the shoot of a crime drama Blackbird in which she accompanied Treat Williams, Olivia Wilde, Kris Kristofferson and Sissy Spacek, in Montreal in May 2011.

Recently Kate Mara was in news because at New York she supported Rooney Mara, her younger sister, at the city premier of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, who played a lead role in that film. The main actress of the film, who played the role of Lisbeth Salader, visited the premier wrapped in black stylish dress and other ornaments whereas Kate entered in somewhat conversional dress that included Christian Dior, a coral dress, alongwith accessories and golden shoes. Whereas Rooney was steeling the whole show in later years but Kate was also proving to be the best at the same moment. Kate also marked the occasions of Academy Awards in which her film 127 Hours was nominated in last year and the recent year's block buster American Horror Story which was nominated in the Best TV shows for Golden Globe Award in the category for drama.
